The Porbandar District Chamber of Commerce & Industries

Apex Representative Body of Trade, Commerce & Industry in Porbandar District

About Us

The Porbandar District Chamber of Commerce & Industries (PDCCI) Established in 1998 is the apex representative body of trade, commerce, mining, manufacturing, shipping, exports, and industrial enterprises in Porbandar district, Gujarat. Established to safeguard and promote the interests of the local business community, the Chamber has played a significant role in the economic development of the district for several decades.

Today, PDCCI continues to work closely with government departments, trade associations, MSMEs, exporters, and industrial stakeholders to promote sustainable economic growth, investment, employment generation, and the overall development of Porbandar district.

Brief History

Porbandar has historically been an important maritime trading centre on India's western coast, with industries such as fisheries, cement, chemicals, minerals, calcined bauxite, salt, agriculture, and port-based trade contributing to its economy. The Chamber has consistently acted as a bridge between industry and government, advocating for improved infrastructure, industrial growth, export promotion, and business-friendly policies.

PDCCI has actively represented the interests of the district's mining and mineral industries at both the state and national levels. It has submitted recommendations on mineral policies to the Government of India and has led industry representations concerning bauxite mining, employment, and industrial development in the region.

In recent years, the Chamber has expanded its role by supporting exporters and promoting international trade. In 2026, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) authorized PDCCI to issue Non-Preferential Certificates of Origin, strengthening its role in facilitating exports from Porbandar and surrounding regions.
